Dr Robyn Brennen, PhD, is a physiotherapist with extensive experience and qualifications in women’s, men’s and pelvic health physiotherapy.
She graduated from her Bachelor of Physiotherapy at the University of South Australia in 2005, then worked part-time in women’s health and continence physiotherapy while studying a Bachelor of Midwifery at Flinders University. She then worked as a midwife and physiotherapist for the next 5 years in Adelaide, as a volunteer working with refuges in Egypt, and then in Melbourne, Australia. While leading the multidisciplinary continence service, and women’s, men’s and pelvic physiotherapy teams at Monash Health, Robyn completed her clinical masters in physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne in 2015, including postgraduate certificates in pelvic floor physiotherapy and women and exercise, and her professional certificate in pelvic organ prolapse (including pessary management) at the University of South Australia.
She has also completed credentialing in a range of advanced practice pelvic floor physiotherapy skills with Monas Health, Melbourne, including pelvic organ prolapse-quantification and pessary management.
In 2023 Robyn completed her PhD with the University of Melbourne, researching pelvic floor disorders after gynaecological cancer, including running a clinical trial of telehealth-delivered pelvic floor muscle training for incontinence after gynaecological cancer. She is very excited to have moved back to beautiful South Australia and to be implementing her broad range of clinical skills and knowledge. As well as providing advanced clinical practice in pelvic floor physiotherapy, Robyn teaches pelvic floor physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne, conservative management of pelvic organ prolapse (including pessaries) at the University of South Australia, and presents nationally and internationally on a range of continence and pelvic floor topics.
