on maternity leave
Stacey is on maternity leave from September 2024
Stacey is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist who is an advocate for movement across the lifespan, who we are thrilled to welcome back from maternity leave.
Starting her career in paediatrics, Stacey has a soft spot for assisting young children in achieving their developmental goals, promoting our teens to participate in any sport they choose, and helping the young athlete develop the necessary skills and strength to excel in their sport.
Stacey has a particular interest in the management of pregnancy and post-natal pain and concerns, and in helping women continue to exercise throughout their pregnancies and eventually return to exercise post-partum.
She has completed further study in the management of pelvic pain and pelvic floor conditions.
She also has a keen interest in assisting runners be able to run pain-free. Though she’ll be the first to tell you she doesn’t run much herself, she has a great affinity for helping all runners achieve their goals through collaborative, specific goal setting and exercise prescription.
Stacey’s approach to treatment is predominantly exercise focussed, ensuring almost all her patients are sent home with a home/gym program specific to their recovery. She is a believer of instilling confidence in her patients to manage their symptoms and recovery independently, by providing education and guidance throughout their rehabilitation.
In conjunction with exercise and movement, Stacey also utilises varying manual treatments as well as dry needling to help with symptom management.
Stacey is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association, and Continence and Women’s Health Physiotherapy Australia.
She regularly attends courses to keep her up to date with the ever-changing evidence, to ensure she is providing the best treatment for her patients.
In her spare time, Stacey enjoys spending time with her husband and son Christian, extended family and friends, as well as travelling, exploring and dancing.
She is a member of a professional Brazilian Samba dance team and will often be seen performing at various fundraisers and local gigs, as well as competing at national and international competitions.Section - got a question - ask team
